Luftwaffe. 6th April 1941. 8/KG3. Dornier Do17 (2563). Sotie to Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Shot down by fighters and crashed near Kac, 10 km north-east of Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. Uffz. Heinz-Werner Neuwirth (FF) killed. Gefr. Kurt Reschke (B) killed. Uffz. Herbert Alfred Schlitter (Bf) killed. Uffz. Walter Brathuhn (Bs) bailed-out and captured (returned). Aircraft 5K+DS a write-off. The VDK say "Kurt Reschke has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery set up by the Volksbund. According to the information we have, his grave is currently still in the following location: Sajkas - Serbia. We hope to be able to find Kurt Reschke's grave in the not too distant future and to be able to transfer the remains to a military cemetery".
