In memoriam

Lambros Konstantaras (13 March 1913 to 28 June 1985) was a Greek comic actor of theater and film, originally from Istanbul. He was brother of actress Michiko Konstantaras and father of former New Democracy MP Dimitris Konstantaras who gave him two grandchildren, the Pauline in 1974 and Lambros 1979. Born in Plutarch Road 13 in Kolonaki and died in "Asklepieion" Voula. Earlier (1978 and 1983) had suffered two strokes. In 1930 he was ranked at the insistence of his family and without his own volition in Navy Petty Officers School in Corfu, where eventually escaped by swimming. Escaped the Military after effects of his family. In 1934 he went to Paris to study goldsmith, to then take the family jeweler in downtown Athens. He abandoned his studies and did various jobs until he was discovered by French director Louis Jouve play as extras in the theater. He studied theater actress "Aten" and the summer of 1938 he returned to Greece, starting now acting career. Excelled in the role of a mature, rich and Women (The man who broke plate, The Villa of Orgies, What 30, what 40, what 50, etc.) or the "father" of several well-known stars of the era (Alice in the Navy, the heartbeat bench, My son, my son, etc.). He married in first marriage to actress Julie Georgopoulos 1945 and the second in friendship Kekatou 1971. The last years were spent in Varkiza. He was buried in the First Cemetery of Athens. Renowned critic Georgousopoulos Costas says in the preface of his book Son of actor Dimitris Konstantaras "AP'TO Through my eyes" for Lambros Konstantaras: "For 40 years following a groundbreaking theater scene.'s One of those rare moments when time freezes, the flow stopped and everything, still. A gesture, a cry, a turned back, a tick, an entrance, a output, showing us how great art is acting and that can thicken to a stop or a sound, the unsettling fact of existence, through acts of imitation. It was in 1956 at the Municipal PIRAEUS, when the troupe of Manos Katraki played super antiwar work of Sheriff "The end of the journey. Finale in first place in the Habré has remained only one officer, who had to take a decision thanatou.Na decide an exit without any hope. The role played Lambros Konstantaras. When left alone, he lit the pipe and smoking the last cigarette as a prisoner before execution. Back to the public, that the great actress, with simplicity, with internal emotion, experienced an explosive silence seemed that lasted centuries. I find this hypocritical moment, analogous to the output of Minotis as "Oedipus at Colonus", back in the Katraki "Stupid", the hunted "Orestes" by Kotsopoulos on "The Libation Bearers", the lament of Hecuba-Paxinou when facing Polydoros The "tick" of Lambeti-Blanche when she passed the straightjacket of Horn in "Confession of Richard II." The Konstantaras was a wonderful actress rhythm. He had a rare sense of the theatrical year. Living the emotion filled pauses and silences. He knew the value of active speech, ie how to operate the words as sounds that mobilize the body and push the action. That played drama, comedy, comedy and farce without distinction of authority resulting from the perfect possession of expressive means. The large audience probably knew him from his film successes, usually dominated by the image of exuberant, ripe bon viver. Still, you may recognize him on his excellent balafaries and improvisational of estrus. But behind it all easy, in terms of art, illustration, there was Konstantaras for the perfect technique, dramatic stuff, French charm and relentless professionalism. Cute guy, educated, thoughtful, in fact, despite the glentzediki life, a lonely and introverted artist, filled our lives with pace, unrepeatable characters, imaginative types and enriched with the parastasiologia markings created standards. The fact that no one has been able to imitate him and nobody replaced him means that our theater produced in a rare acting authenticity and a deep characterological Greekness. Jean was one Gkampen, one Jean Mara, one and one Fernantel Louis de Fynes simultaneously! " In 2008 a theater Egaleo named "Lambros Konstantaras Theatre" in recognition of its contribution to Greek theater and cinema.
