Leslie Frederick Dutton

Warrant Officer Class 1 Navigator Royal Canadian Air Force Royal Air Force 40 Squadron Regimental Number R/141415 Leslie Frederick Dutton was the son of Frederick Dutton and Ann Wilson. Born on 15 Jun 1918 in Maltby, Yorkshire, England, Leslie and his family emigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1930. He married Edith Mary Goodchild in Toronto on 12 September 1942. An announcement of their marriage appeared in the Toronto Daily Star on 21 September 1942, p. 18. Leslie's brother Leonard died on 14 April 1943 and is buried in a collective grave in France. Warrent Officer I Leslie Dutton's obituary was published in The Toronto Daily Star on 12 December 1944, p. 4. His name appears on page 297 in the Second World War Book of Remembrance held in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower, Parliament Hill, at Ottawa, Canada.
