Lorenco married his life partner, Josefina Palic, in the late 1970s and together they had three sons: Josip, Mario and Petar. In the early 1980s he relocated to Zadar, Croatia for employment following the anti-Chroat rhetoric in Kosovo. There in Zadar, he opened a seasonal merchandise shop allowing his return to Janjevo, Kosovo and family during the winter months. When the 1990s Balkan conflicts heated up in 1992 he moved his family to Zagreb, Croatia to gain citizenship. In 1993 the family finally rejoined in Zadar. The reunion of the family allowed for his sons to share in the operation of the merchandising shop and allowed for Lorenco to spend quality time with his family. Sadly, 17 years later he suffered a severe stroke and died early morning in the local Zadar hospital. Regretfully, his granddaughter, Antonia, died in 2015 and now shares his gravesite.
