In memoriam

Marios Ploritis (19 January 1919-29 December 2006) was a journalist, critic, translator, writer and theater director. Marios Ploritis born in Piraeus. Graduate of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Athens. He studied drama in England, France and the USA. He was a critic of theater and cinema in the newspaper "Freedom" (1945-1965), director of the theater department of the EIR (1950-1952), professor of history at the Drama Theatre School of Theatre Arts (1956-1967). There was not one of the pioneers of Art Theater along with Charles Kuhn. The translation and critical work is important. The weekly articles in Vima "epoch". He was editor of Victory (1965-1967) [1] was a member of the IFJ, the Company Playwrights, the Association of Theatre Critics and Greek Theatre Centre. He had three marriages. A with actress Ellie Lambeti 1950 (divorced in 1953), second with Marika Anemoyannis in 1964 and third in 1996 with Katia Dandoulaki (which was already couple for many years, lived together 32 years total). Companion, too, there was perhaps the most popular Greek actor, Alice Vouyiouklaki. He was a resident of Athens and was also speaking French, English, German and Italian.
