Martin Povirk was from Križevska Vas and was the brother of Jože Povirk . He was murdered in 1944. He had been with the Partisans for some time, but then decided to leave, and returned home and hid in a hayrack (Sln. kozolec) and would go to his relatives at night for food. The Partisans discovered him after a week; two Partisans took him away, tied a coat over his head, and then beat him to death with an ax. Source: Zaveza no. 16, 22 June 2011
