Son of Franc Erbežnik and Marija Podviz Erbežnik. Born in Ločnica (a hamlet of Trnovec) and lived in Sora. He was an agitator for the Partisans' Liberation Front and was killed at Ajdovec and buried on the Kočevje Rog Plateau. His grave in Dobrova is a cenotaph.
