Mehmed - Beg Kapetanović Ljubušak was Bosnian-Herzegovinian politician, statesman, writer, author, the second mayor of Sarajevo and nobleman. Mehmed - beg Kapetanović Ljubušak was engaged in research work and is responsible for the collection of folk stories, songs and wisdom, which he published in the book "Narodno blago"(National treasure). He is one of the most significant figures of the Bosniak revival from the 19th century. He founded the newspaper "Bošnjak" - (Bosniak). He published several literary works and was actively involved in politics. He is the father of the Bosnian writer Riza- beg Kapetanović Ljubušak. He was the mayor of Sarajevo in the period from 1893 until 1899. He died in Sarajevo and was buried at Ravne Bakije cemetery in Sarajevo.
