WW2 Service Australian Army Rank Gunner VX43150 Posting on Death: 3 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment RAA He was killed in action in Greece. Description Vic. Paybook photograph of VX43150 Gunner Alan John Goad, 3rd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Gunner Goad, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 7 June 1941. He was the son of Thomas Stuart Goad and Annie Isobelle Goad, and the husband of Clarice Goad, of Port Melbourne, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour Port Melbourne Vic, also at panel 20 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
