Alfred George Pickering

In memoriam

Killed in Action Marine Alfred Pickering died during a raid on the Island of Brac, Yugoslavia. Initially buried with others on Brac near Nerezische, their remains were later reinterred in a collective grave at Belgrade War Cemetery. Those buried with him are Marines Hopper and Tarrant of 40RM Commando, and Marines Brookes, Cooper, Hurst, Ivens, and Williamson of 43RM Commando. Aged 19 years Royal Marines No.40 R.M. Commando. Service Number - CH/X 111702 Country of Service - United Kingdom Royal Navy Son of Arthur and Rose Lilian Pickering, of Bow, London.
