In memoriam

3rd Prime Minister of Slovenia. He served from June 7, 2000 to November 30, 2000. Prior to becoming prime minister, he earned a number of degrees in economics studying in Argentina and the United States. He was a professor in Argentina until the revolt of 1976. He then went to Washington D.C. where he worked for the Inter-American Development Bank several years. He returned to Slovenia in 1999 where he became heavily involved in party politics. He soon became prime minister. However, the previous prime minister returned to office and led him to leave the Slovene People's Party. He is best remembered for founding a new political party called New Slovenia. He was then was elected to the National Assembly and then became minister of finance serving 2004 to 2008. He then retired from politics.
