Angela Jakoš

In memoriam

Angela Jakoš was the daughter of Anton Jakoš and was born in Bizovik. On April 28th, 1948, the Communist Party functionary Franc Mojškerc was shot and killed by two Yugoslav secret police (UDBA) agents (Janez Frank and another) in front of his pregnant wife and three-year-old son at his home in Bizovik. The authorities falsely blamed the killing on anti-communist forces. Half of the village was imprisoned, and 24-year-old Angela Jakoš was placed on trial, sentenced to death on 3 July 1948, and shot as a scapegoat on 25 November 1948. Sources: - Velikonja, Tine. 2011.
