Anton Perne

In memoriam

Anton Perne was born January 11th, 1921 in Lom pod Storžičem. He graduated from the classical high school in Ljubljana in 1940 and was a member of the Catholic Action student group. He was also a top athlete, especially in basketball. He joined the Vincentians on August 14th, 1940 in Groblje. After his term as a novitiate, he enrolled in the seminary in 1941. He joined the Home Guard in 1944, where he served as a medic. He withdrew with the Home Guard to Austrian Carinthia in May 1945, but at the end of May was forcibly returned to Yugoslavia and murdered at an unknown location.
