30775 Private David Wilson , Died of Malaria & Broncho Peumonia on the 25th.September 1918, Aged 30, at the 64th.General Hospital, Salonika while serving with the 1st.Battalion, The Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment). David was born in Beath, Fife and lived in Cowdenbeath. On the 14th.March 1916, at Dunfermline, he enlisted into the Royal Scots at the age of 28 years and 9 months and was described as being 5 foot two & threequarter inches tall and was a tailor by profession. Following a period of training, David was posted to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 9th.August 1916 and arrived in Greece on the 26th.and joined his Battalion on the 7th.September. On the 14th.October he was admitted to the 27th.Casualty Clearing Station in Salonika (cause unknown) and was returned to duty on the 2nd.November. David was the son of David & Margaret (Maggie) Wilson and according to the 1901 Census, David was residing at 262, High Street, Beath, Fife with his parents and five siblings, James, William, Maggie, John & Robert. David's personal belongings were returned to his family and they included photos, letters, cards, a razor in a case and a purse.
