In memoriam
Franz Vidrih was born about 1835 in or near to Dobrepolje or Ambrus, Slovenia (at the time, part of the Austrian Empire). He married Margareth Rus about 1860; she was the daughter of George Rus and Anna Heyler. They had known children Franc, born 25 Jun 1871, Maria born 25 Nov 1874, and Franciska born 1 Feb 1878. All the children were born in Četež Pri Struge, Dobrepolje, Slovenia. Franz died after 1878. Franz's occupation was listed as a "Heubler." in his daughter Franceska's birth record. A heubler was someone who owned land (a farm with house, garden, fields, meadows, forests, possibly vineyards, etc.) from which an average farmer's family could live, and also pay all the prescribed taxes. Franz had a brother Josef, who married Marija Rus, the sister of Franz'a wife Margaretha Rus. The remainder of Franz's family is unknown at this time. The details of Franz's death and burial are unknown.
