The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment)

A Company 4th Battalion Parents were Samuel Hodge Parren and Hannah Elizabeth Leete At midnight on 23 October 1943 the Frigate HMS Eclipse which was carrying them to Greece, hit a mine east of Kolymnos. She broke in half and sank within 5 mins. Loss of 119 ships company and 134 soldiers from the Buffs A company 4th Battalion
