Gafur Yegeni, was born in 1907, in Dibër te Madhe. He completed the military school in Tirana and continued his studies at the Academy of Border Guards in Italy. He initially served on the coastal border of Durrës; 1935-1937, he was commander of the Qafë-Thane - Bilisht (Devoll) border. In 1937, he was appointed commander of the border guard in Vlora. In 1939, he organized the anti-fascist resistance in Vlora. The Italians arrested him, the military court sentenced him to death, he ended up exiled in Italy until 1943. After the war, he refused to serve in the army, he retired to private life. On February 27, 1951, with decision no. 64, the Supreme Military Court declared him guilty of "participation in a terrorist organization", "for entering the service of espionage", "for propaganda against the government" and "for inciting war" and sentenced him to death, shooting, the loss of permanent civil rights and the confiscation of his movable and immovable property. He was shot on February 26, 1951, along with 21 other intellectuals, in the case of the fake bomb incident in the Soviet embassy (Kujto.al)
