Henry “Harry” Royle

Henry Royle Rank: Private Service Number: 23909. Regiment: 8th Bn. Kings Shropshire Light Infantry Killed In Action Wednesday 25th April 1917 Age 23 Harry Royle was born in Lower Peover, Cheshire in 1893, one of three children born to Henry (a railway lorryman) and Martha Royle of 4, Canute Place, Knutsford. Henry was a groom. He joined the 8th Battalion of the Kings (Shropshire Light Infantry) as Private no. 23909. Henry was killed in action on the 25th April 1917. He is also commemorated in the family grave in Tabley Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, England (Find A Grave Memorial# 138430115).
