NX4040 Posting on Death: 2/4th Australian Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action in Crete. Description of NSW Paybook photograph of NX4040 Corporal James Brazier, 2/4th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Brazier, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 30 May 1941. He was the son of Frederick and Lizzie Brazier, and the husband of Joyce Mary Brazier, of Concord, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Central Concord NSW, also his name is located at panel 30 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Frederick and Lizzie Brazier; husband of Joyce Mary Brazier, of Concord, New South Wales, Australia. Father Frederick Charles Brazier (1883-1957) Mother Elizabeth "Lizzie" Brazier (1883-1968) Spouse Joyce Mary Dowsell (1921-1996)
