James who was a carter to trade, enlisted Paisley 14th March 1906, he was a worker at John Cairns and sons Shoe and boot makers 8 Houston Square Johnstone prior to enlisting, James Had 3 years and 302 days service when he died of wounds, He had previously been wounded in Action on the 1st Oct 1916 with Gunshot wounds to his shoulder. James is Commemorated at Struma Military Cemetery Kalokastron Regional unit of Serres Central Macedonia, Greece Plot: VIII. B. 9.
