Unable to find his parents. He is in the 1901 British census living with Ann Boman 1841 in Pamber, Hampshire and is listed as her grandson. In the 1911 census he is living and working in London. It is unclear as to whether Ann was actually his grandmother or whether he was just living with Ann. Ann was a single woman and in earlier census information there isn't an obvious person who would have been her child since all the children listed are children of her siblings. Ann's parents were George Boman and Jane Tull and she was born in Tadley, Hampshire. Birth records for Melbourne, Australia list four John Brennans born around the right time. Having checked these out, each one of these John Brennan's died in Australia decades later. Connaught Rangers Service number 5303
