In memoriam

Private (Acting Corporal) 42218 7th Battalion South Wales Borderers. Killed in action, aged 25 years. Husband of Winifred Ellen Hardman (nee Boyle - married 1917), 9, Tonge Street, Heywood. Son of Ellis and Jessie. Brother of Ellis. (Widow later married Joseph Kivell in 1920 at Bury). Enlisted at Rochdale in February 1915. Previously employed as a big piecer at Yew Mill Heywood. Commemorated on the Roll of Honour for All Souls Parishioners, Heywood.
