Private 9110 12th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers . Killed in action, aged 20 years. Son of Joseph and Ann Davis, 40, Dane Street, Rochdale.. Enlisted at Rochdale in October 1914, went abroad August 1915. Employed at Tenterhouse Bleaching & Dyeing Company. His brother (Henry) was also killed in action. Two other brothers also served. Connected with Mitchell Street Methodist church, Rochdale.
