Service No: 9419. Private, Royal Fusiliers, 3rd Bn. Son of Albert and Maria Ann (Talbot) Slate, of 18, Edinburgh Street, Radford, Nottingham. Before the war he was a tobacco trade labourer. Luke enlisted in Nottingham and served with the 3rd battalion Royal Fusiliers. He landed in France on 7th May 1915. Killed in Action. Age: 25.
