In memoriam

Since I was fourteen I had to earn money From hard work in the woods With the saw and the hatchet Father went to war And never came back Three small children he left behind In a world of heavy sorrow I wish I lived some more To see my plans come true From sixty-two countries People visited me till yesterday Many state leaders Visited with me From now on when they come They'll find me here no more I wish them well All who came to visit me For I left my life At age 69 D. 1977
