Son of Jonathan and Mary Tarn (nee Aitchison) of 16 Hornby Road, Bootle, Liverpool (natives of Jarrow) His cousin Edwin Gidney Engineer Sub-Lieutenant, H.M.S. "Empress of Russia." Royal Naval Reserve also lost his life WW1.
