In memoriam

Private 17543 1st Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Died at 37th Field Ambulance station, Mudros, aged 32 years. Husband of Rebecca Wright, (nee Donovan) - married in 1907 at St. Peters Newbold, Rochdale. Lived at 5, Cobden Street, Rochdale. Father of John (b.1907 - d.1911 aged 4), Frederick (b. 8.5.1908), Edith (b. 9.8.1909), Mark (b. 1.5.1913) and Mary Ann (b.17.4 1914). Son of John and Mary Ann. Brother of Elizabeth Ann, Thomas, Frederick William*, Joseph, Millicent and Mary Jane. **His brother, Able Seaman Frederick William Wright (R.N.), died at home of disease contracted whilst on active service with H.M.S. Victory. He was 40 years old. He was buried with full military honours and was laid to rest in Rochdale Cemetery. (Grave reference J.J. 29247 CWGC headstone)
