Captain & ADJT. Q. Bone MC. Royal Lancaster Regiment 19th September 1918

Born at 3.30am 21st September 1894 at 17 Pitcullen Terrace, Perth. He was educated at Perth,then at Gelston school and at Ewart High school at Newton Stewart Kirkcudbrightshire. Captain Quintin Bone, MC. Captain and adjutant, 9th King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, killed in action on 19th September 1918, within seven days of the Armistice in Salonika. Temporary Captain and Adjutant Quintin Bone. Commissioned on the 5th January 1915 into the 9th Battalion, Bone served throughout the war with the battalion, until he was killed in action on 19th September 1918 in the final push of the campaign in Macedonia. He enlisted in September 1914 as a private (No 12114) in the Cameron Highlanders. He was commissioned in January 1915 and joined his new battalion in Salonica later that year. In 1918 he was awarded the Military Cross for distinguished service in Salonika. Recorded in the Edinburgh Gazette, 7th June 1918.
