Private Simon ("Sidney") Lubick (or Lubich) was an English soldier of the British Army who died during the First World War. He was born in 1893, at Whitechapel, the son of Russian-born parents Marks, a cabinet maker by trade, and Sarah Lubick. At the time of the 1911 Census, the younger Lubick was working as a compositor while living with his family at 23 Edwards Road. Aged 25, Lubick died on 25 September 1918, during the last days of the Salonika Campaign, while serving with the 7th (Service) Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. His death came five days before the signing of an armistice with Bulgaria. He was posthumously mentioned in despatches. Lubick's younger brother, Israel, a private in the South Wales Borderers, had died in May. He has no known grave
