Private Warner, aged 33, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of Stephen George and Annie Winifred Warner, and the husband of Norma Bessie Warner, of South Yarra, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11, also his name is listed on the Roll of Honour in Williamstown Vic and at panel 32 in the Commemorative at the Australian War Memorial.
