14543 Serjeant Walter Edwin Vickers serving with 7th.Btn.Royal Berkshire Regiment was 'Killed by Friendly Artillery Fire' on 23rd.December 1916, Aged 27 , together with 19978 James Andrew Gefaell of Limehouse, 14421 Harold Aloysius Roberts of Caversham, 26857 Pte.William James Wood of Newbury and 25556 Pte.Herbert Withers of Thornbury. Captain Richard Albert Beresford Chancellor of Wargrave, Died of his Wounds the next day. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Vickers, of 15, Smiths Buildings, Greenham Rd., Newbury, Berks.
