Wilhelm Flecht

In memoriam

Wilhelm Flecht was born in Schwalgendorf, County of Mohrungen, East Prussia, German Reich in December 1920. Due to the fact that this former area of Germany had to be handed over to Poland as a result of World War II in 1945, FindAGrave refers to the modern day Polish village of Siemiany, County of Morąg in northern Poland as Wilhem's place of birth. Being a member of the German Navy, Wilhelm Flecht took part in the Greek war theater in 1944 where he was severely wounded . Wilhelm passed away in a German mobile military hospital in the city of Thessaloniki/Saloniki, Greece, in the autumn of 1944. .
