William Holman

In memoriam

Private W.Holman served with the 7th Bn., the Royal Berkshire Regiment. (Service No.18040) His brothers, Privates A.E.Holman, aged 22 and T.A.A. Holman, aged 18, resting in KNIGHTSBRIDGE CEMETERY, MESNIL-MARTINSART, were killed in action within a week of each other. They both served in the 1st Bn., the Essex Regiment and enlisted together, hence consecutive service numbers. They were sons of George and Emily Holman, of 39, Spencer Rd., East Ham, London. He and his brothers are remembered on their mother's grave at City of London Cemetery.
