Gunner Irving, aged 33, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 26 May 1941. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in GEELONG Vic, also his name is located at panel 16 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of John and Mary Irving; husband of Mavis Eileen Irving, of Lismore, Victoria, Australia. Spouse Mavis Eileen Kelly (1913-1986)
