Ya'akov Soybel

In memoriam

Translation of Hebrew inscription: "A simple and upright man, Ya'akov son of Avraham Aba Soybel, died 7th of Elul 5673, may his soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life." Ya'acov (Jacob) was the brother of Gershon Sobel/Sibel, and Zlata/Zelda Weinblatt of Baltimore, Maryland. After his death, his wife Rivka (Rebecca) and children Morris, Samuel, Solomon, Simcha, and Gitel/Gertrude settled in Baltimore as well. In the U.S., they spelled their surname SIBEL.
