In memoriam
Chrisanthos (Mendis) Bostantzoglou, better known under the pseudonym Bost was a caricaturist and cartoonist, playwright, songwriter and painter. Born in 1918 in Constantinople and died in 1995. Was married to Maria Bostantzoglou. The two sons Costas and John is now prominent in the field of graphic design and acting accordingly. His work includes political cartoons and vignettes, illustrations books and magazines ten plays and many paintings. From 1920 to 1926 he lived with his family in Romania and then in Athens. School students began the sketches and acquired the nickname Mendis. The 1939 was introduced at the Faculty of Fine Arts, which, however, dropped after six months. During the German occupation he became a member of the IPU (1942) and participated in the National Resistance. He died on 13 December 1995.
