Gunner O'Connor, aged 39, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29 May 1941. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Michael Joseph O'Connor, and the husband of Ellen O'Connor, of East Brunswick, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10.
