Olympic Gold Medalist. He was a Serbian goalkeeper and at the time, was considered one of FK Partizan best. At the age of 11 he began his training with the Red Star football club but because of a misunderstanding he decided to move to the Partizan Football Clube where he spent a majority of his professional career. He was called to play for the Yugoslavia youth team. During his time there, he played in 387 matches and helped the club to win 2 National Championships. After preforming so well during his time with the Yugoslavia youth team, he was invited to play for the national team as their goalkeeper in 1960. That same year at the 1960 Summer Olympics' in Rome Italy, he distinguished himself by earning a gold medal. Also that year at the 1960 European Nations' Cup the team received a silver medal. He received his greatest recognition when he was invited to play at the 1963 England v Rest of the World football match. A severe second leg fracture ended his playing career. After his playing career ended, he continued to stay active with the game by becoming a manager and assistant coach for several teams until he retired completely after the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
