Murat-beg Tardić was the sandjak-beg of Klis and Požega, and the chieftain of Gazi Husrev-beg's army and the first Muteveli of Gazi-Husrev-beg's vakuf. Since the Uskoks from Klis disturbed the Bosnian Krajina, in 1536 the Bosnian army led by Murat-beg Tardić was constantly around Klis. Near Sinj, Murat-beg Tardić built two forts, in order to cut off the supply of food and other materials to the inaccessible Klis. In 1537, the Croatian army under the command of Petar Kružić arrived to help the besieged Klis. Murat-beg Tardić intercepted him near Solin, where he beat him. After that, on March 12, 1537, Murat Bey captured Klis. Due to his military service, Murat-bey became the manager of the Kliska sandjak with the title of bey. In 1543, he was appointed to the position of sandjak-bey of Požega, where he remained until his death in 1545. He was buried in the harem of Bey's mosque in a smaller turbe near Gazi Husrev-beg.
