Bosnian poet, author, and writer. He was born in 1878 in Odžak. Musa Ćazim Ćatić was the first Bosniak poet of modern literature. Ćatić wrote 12 books and translations. He also wrote essays, reviews, translated studies, and poetry. He was a romantic and most of his works are about love. Musa Ćazim Ćatić died in April 1915. Today, many schools and public institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina bear his name in honor of his literary work. He is considered the greatest poetic talent in Bosnian literature since Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar. Musa Ćazim Ćatić is pictured on the 50 KM (convertible mark) banknote, the official banknote of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
