Nada Mamula was born in Belgrade in what was then Yugoslavia as Nada Vukićević to her father, Miodrag, who was originally from Aleksinac, and her mother, Smiljana, who was from Soko banja, on January 9, 1927. At a very young age, she started singing sevdalinka, which marked her career, and became one of the singers who had two shows on the then "Radio Belgrade" dedicated to this type of music, which she interpreted. After she married Nikola Mamula and moved to Sarajevo, Nada performed three famous songs "Gde si dušo, gde si rano" (originally performed by Danica Obrenić) at the audition for "Radio Sarajevo"; "Kad nedelja dojde" (originally sung by the Radulović sisters) and "Sitna kiša rosila, tri mokka prosila" (originally performed by Veselinka Ivančević), Nada was accepted at "Radio Sarajevo" and is considered to have officially started then her rich music career. To this day, the archival recordings of Radio Sarajevo; Radio Belgrade and Radio Novi Sad left over 150 recordings of sevdalinka and folk songs performed by this top artist. Nada passed away in her home in October11, 2011, and was buried at Belgrade's New Cemetery with the farewell of her dearest and closest friends who were by her side until the last moment.
