Nadezda "Nada" Vujcic (née Roksic) was born on April 13, 1936 in Boljevci, Srem, Serbia to father Milenko and mother Vukosava (née Milovanovic). Nadezda and her husband Jefrem Vujcic married in 1958 and had two children together: a son named Prvoslav (b. 1960) and a daughter named Milena (b. 1964). After completing gymnasium in Belgrade, Nadezda graduated from the University of Belgrade where she received degrees from the Teacher's Faculty and the Pedagogical Academy. While a student, she was also a competitive swimmer at the University's Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. After graduating, she worked as a school teacher in Sirakovo, Obrenovac and Pozarevac. She also played the accordion in Belgrade's cultural arts society KUD Abrasevic and was an avid reader and writer. Her recipes were published weekly in the Belgrade newspaper Politika ekspres. Two collections of her poems titled Tvoja sam zvezda and Zubor zivota have been published. Along with her native Serbian, Nadezda also spoke Russian, Czech and Slovak and enjoyed frequenting the spa town Sokobanja. Nadezda Vujcic passed away on December 23, 2015 at 5:50 PM. The funeral was held on December 25, 2015 at the Staro groblje (Old Cemetery) in Pozarevac where she is interred together with her husband Jefrem in the Vujcic family plot.
