Nevzet Nanić (May 8, 1968 - June 30, 1992) was the commander of the "Gazije" special operations unit and the brother of Izet Nanić, another prominent military leader. Born in Bužim on May 8, 1968, he completed his primary education in Bužim and attended a technical high school in Bosanska Krupa, focusing on mechanical engineering. He later graduated from the Faculty of Marine Engineering at the University of Split. He was married to Mirzeta Elkasović and had one son, Emir. Nevzet Nanić lost his life on June 30, 1992, while defending against the offensive of the Army of the Republic of Srpska on Osmača Hill, near Bosanska Otoka. At the time of his death, he was serving as the commander of the "Gazije" special operations unit. In recognition of his sacrifice and bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Golden Lily medal in 1994.
