Nicolae Filimon

Romanian writer, folklorist, musician and the first musical critic in Romania. He is best known for his novel "Ciocoii vechi și noi" ("The old and the new parvenus"), but also for his travel journals in the Middle East and Europe. During his life he has published several articles and chronicles about operas and theaters representations in different magazines of the time like 'The national' and 'The carpathians magazine'. He worked as the head secretary of the national Romanian archives and he was a good friend of the fifth Romanian prime minister, Ion Ghica.
