Nigel George Leftwich

In memoriam

Born in 1890 in Richmond Surrey son of George Robert and Emily Leftwich. Father was an established artist who particularly painted animals. By 1911 family living at The Priory, Rickmansworth and Nigel then working as a Bank Clerk. Enlisted in 28th battalion London Regiment No 2257 and was commissioned as an officer on 23 Oct 1915. By 1918 serving as Lieutenant in 2nd battalion Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action during the Salonika campaign and his body never recovered
