Nikolaos Arvanitis

Nikolaos Arvanitis (Νικόλαος Αρβανίτης) was a Gendarme. He was killed in action during the battle of Mandalon (a village near Giannitsa) on November 26th 1946. He was from the island of Lesvos. It is mentioned that he was from Kastro of Lesvos but there is no village named Kastro there. Most probably it is implied that he was either from Mytilene or Molyvos or other place of Lesvos with Castle (Kastro). Member of the 8th Company of Gendarmerie for Pursuit and Hunting (8ος Λόχος Κυνηγών Χωροφυλακής).
