Nina Assorodobraj-Kula

Nina Assorodobraj-Kula (16 August 1908 – 6 November 1999) was a sociologist, president of the Polish Sociological Association from 1964 to 1968.

Biography Daughter of Nachman Naum Assorodobraj and Rywka née Wierchowska. In 1930, she completed her master's degree at the University of Warsaw under the supervision of Marceli Handelsman. In 1935 she obtained doctorate upon dissertation supervised by Stefan Czarnowski. In the years 1937–1939 she completed an internship in Paris. From 1939 to 1941, she worked at the Ossolineum in Lviv. In June 1941, she moved to Warsaw, where she taught in secret secondary schools. In 1968 she was expelled from the Polish United Workers' Party. She was married to Witold Kula, and was mother to Marcin Kula. Barbara Szacka was among her doctoral students.
