Nisan was the son of Shmul, an Innkeeper in Kishinev. Nisan had at least five children: Itsik, Mechel, Ita, Nathan and Rose. Itsik moved to St Louis and changed his name to Louis. Mechel and Nathan also lived in St. Louis and the three brothers moved to Philadelphia.
