Casualty of the Great War,Lance Corporal Hannay was Killed in action at the Battle of Zir.He served with the 81st Bn., Machine Gun Corps, Service No: 48868. He was 22 and left India with first Burma contingent in January. He was the son John Alexander and Fanny Catherine Hannay, of A. Road, Maymvo, Burma, India.(sic)
