Greek admiral. Son of Demosthenes Ioannidis, appellate, and Foteini Rodiou. On his mother's side was descended from the Kolokotronis family and was a direct descendant of Theodoros Kolokotronis. He was also the great-grandson of Gennaios Kolokotronis and Panagiotis Rodios. In December 1944, after a distinguished naval career, he was kidnapped by communists from his home, in Amerikis Square in Athens. The method and place of his death remain unknown.
